Living Life by Design

My experience with cancer has been an incredible journey because my perspective about life, people, and myself has changed tremendously. Let me tell you how:

I have always loved to laugh and have fun, but according to my sister, I do and say the funniest things these days. She thinks I am funnier than ever.

Also, I'm not as concerned anymore about having every hair in place, perfectly made-up face, and all clothing coordinated before I step outside of my home. Recently, I was cleaning the house, and realized that I needed something from the grocery store. At the time, I was wearing one green sock and one pink one. I slip on my shoes, and headed to the store thinking to myself that I may start a new trend. I laughed all the way there and back, thinking about how much I had changed, and how much more fun I am having.

When I shared my little adventure with my family, they found it hard to believe, but they laughed out loud anyway.

One more thing, I am more compassionate to myself and others, because I have come to realize that you never know what others are going through, so at ever opportunity, I will at least share a smile.
